National Cancer Research Network Breast Clinical Focus Group
The National Cancer Research Institute breast clinical focus group is looking to identify individuals interested in supporting breast research. If you are interested in this opportunity these documents explain the process
Many of you will be aware that there have been discussions over recent months about the need for closer collaboration between the existing breast cancer research groups around the country. We see that this is necessary to bring in all active breast cancer researchers, communicate more efficiently with industry and potential international partners and streamline the development of new proposals.
Around 25 key researchers around the country met to discuss and agree on the purpose, scope and structure of a UK breast intergroup. Please note that this intergroup will work very closely with the NCRI Breast Cancer Study GroupPlease see this brief outline of the way we would see this group working. Very importantly membership is open to all breast cancer clinicians, research nurses and data managers with application to join simply by registering your interest and providing an email contact address. This will allow us to keep in touch with you on a regular basis for electronic updates and to inform you of the 6 monthly open research planning meetings that we propose to hold.
Please use the simple registration form, which we would invite you to complete and return by email or fax as indicated on the form. Please also ensure that other breast cancer clinical trialists in your centre/network receive a copy of this form so the membership can be as inclusive as possible. As soon as we have a membership we will propose and elect a chairman so that the business of the intergroup can commence after the summer holidays.
